Khachod Dechenling Foundation
Undoing the Busy Mind
New Yorkers are ripe for discovering dharma gold: Buddha's wisdom teachings, measureless wealth for living sanely in this post-Covid era. The setting for dharma teachings under the aegis of the Khachod Dechenling Foundation is a private sanctuary in the West Village near the Hudson River Greenway (pictured above.) We offer in-depth guidance for dharma study and the practice of meditation—unrivaled means for reawakening basic sanity.
Take a break from online distractions. Meet up with like-minded folks in the community and treat yourself to the benefits of exploring the dharma in-person, freed of the Almighty Algorithm. Meditation is more than a method or mindfulness app to pacify our rampaging thoughts and emotions. Meditation is a way of being. Open, at ease, uncontrived. For the benefit of all beings.

Our Intention
To showcase the power of Tibet’s wisdom teachings to mitigate the excesses of social media that are dumbing down American culture and high-jacking civil discourse in particular.
Mind Training
We have yet to recover collectively from the pandemic’s wrenching of our social norms: The mental health crisis is severe, and it is compelling more and more men and women to explore the nature of the mind. Khachod Dechenling Foundation offers support for anyone who aspires to tame their wild “monkey" mind and abide in equanimity. Through introspection and developing the compassionate means that Tibetan Buddhist masters embody, we can actually cut through self-deception and discover our lightness of being—pure awareness, free of bias and aggression. In these upside down, hyperbolic times, what could be more relevant and healing?!
Khachod Dechenling Foundation is an educational non-profit 501(c3) organization incorporated in New York State.

“When we practice, we need rested playmind. All spiritual qualities are invisible and substanceless and are inherent within all substance. If we are too serious, the object of our meditation becomes more and more distant, divided and obscured, but if we have playmind we can always see clearly, like the pond which becomes clear when left alone, free from disturbances.”
